Contraty to what many people believe, pigeons are actually really clean, intelligent, and emotionally kind animals.
I first fell in love with these multi-colored little guys around 2013. I had an internship in downtown Boston and would often eat lunch on the lawn of the Christian Science Center There were lots of pigeons around, naturally, and one day one with a bad foot came up to me. I shared my lunch with her and she just kind of...hung out. She was so chill and cute! I then later learned that pigeons are not wild animals--the pigeons you see around the city today are 'feral.' They were bred by humans to be food, companions, messengers, and helers. It just breaks my heard that we have abandoned them and irgnore how beautiful they are.
